AMATYC Standards

AMATYC Standards

Mathematics programs at two-year and four-year colleges as well as at many universities serve students from diverse personal and academic backgrounds who begin their postsecondary education with a wide variety of educational goals and personal aspirations. The study of mathematics such as quantitative reasoning, statistics, and calculus are part of their graduation requirements and career plans. AMATYC has created and maintained these standards to guide faculty who teach mathematics in the first two years of mathematics at any college or university.  These Standards were updated in 2023 and will continue to be updated as needed.

More detail of the Standards and how to make a change in mathematics education can be found in these three documents.
