Karina Ochs

Karina is an Associate Professor at Brookdale Community College in New Jersey. She earned her Master's degree in Applied Mathematics from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and has been teaching at Brookdale since 2014. Throughout her time at the college, she has contributed to numerous curriculum initiatives supporting both developmental and college-level mathematics. Karina has served in several leadership roles, including Assistant Chair of the Mathematics Department and, more recently, Assistant Dean of the School of STEAM. She was a member of Project ACCCESS Cohort 12, an experience she found truly invaluable. As a coordinator, she is passionate about encouraging future fellows to step into leadership roles within their institutions and through AMATYC. Outside of her professional responsibilities, Karina enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Rebecca Claxton

Rebecca is an Assistant Professor at Raritan Valley Community College in New Jersey. She did her undergraduate work at Stockton University then earned her Master's in Mathematics at the University of Virginia. She did private tutoring and worked as an adjunct at Piedmont Virginia Community College for a few years before getting her full-time position back in her home state in 2021. She is the chair of the Liberal Arts Math committee at RVCC and is passionate about fostering an appreciation for mathematics in those who most often fear and avoid it. She was a member of Project ACCCESS Cohort 19 and is looking forward to paying forward all the wonderful experiences the program and its participants gave to her. Outside of the classroom, she enjoys cooking, reading, and a lot of tabletop gaming.
