Electronic Proceedings of the Annual
Conferences of the
American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges
INSTRUCTIONS FOR
AUTHORS
AMATYC will be pleased to publish your presentation or contributed
paper to the AMATYC Annual Conference on its web site. By
making the proceedings available via the Internet, your
presentation will be accessible to the mathematics community
worldwide.
AMATYC will publish you presentation free
of charge if you are an AMATYC member. However AMATYC reserves
the right to determine if your paper is appropriate to be
published on the AMATYC web site and the right to edit or
modify your paper. It is your responsibility to check for
errors and opinions of your presentations. Publishing your
papers does not mean that AMATYC agrees with and support
your opinions.
Please do not include materials that others
have copyrighted.
To publish your presentation or contributed
paper, you will need to supply an electronic copy of your
materials. To help us publish your submissions more quickly
and effectively, please pay attention to the following:

Membership: If you are not an
AMATYC member, please join AMATYC before you submit
your paper.

Category: Indicate the category
of your presentations: Algebra, Precalculus, Calculus,
Post-Calculus, Statistics/Probability, Teaching with
Technology, Assessment

Title: Your paper must have a
title.

Affiliation: Iinclude your postal
and e-mail addresses.

Abstract: Include an abstract
of your paper. The abstract should not be more than
100 words.

Your homepage: AMATYC will not
publish your paper by providing a link to your homepage.
You need to provide the direct URL of your paper. You
can show the URL of your homepage in your paper.

References: References to published
literature should be quoted in the text in square brackets
and grouped together at the end of the paper in numerical
order of appearance.

Journal references should be arranged
thus:
1. WANG, T., Using a Computer Algebra System
in Teaching Mathematics, PRIMUS, Vol. IV,
No.3, pp284-300, Sept.(1994).

Book references should be given
as follows:
2. FINNEY, WEIR, and GIORDANO, Thomas' Calculus
with Early Transcendentals, 10th Edition, Addison-Wesley
(2001).

Online references should be listed
as:
3. JONES, J., Successful Students in the Internet
Classroom, http://www.amatyc.org/Proceedings/SaltLakeCity29/html/Judy-Ann-Jones.html
(2003).

Length of your submission: there
are no length restrictions in terms of the number of pages.

Format of your electronic files:
Microsoft Word, HTML, PDF, and Powerpoint files are acceptable.
If your paper is published to a web page, you may submit
the URL of your paper instead of an electronic file.

Graphics: If your materials contain
graphics that need to be scanned, please send a paper
copy of your presentation along with the electronic copy.

Multiple Submissions: submit each
paper separately.

Multiple Authors: The contacting
author should be identified with an asterisk *. All authors
should have the complete information including the names,
affiliations, e-mail addresses.
You may submit the electronic file of your paper in any of
the following ways:
- Send an e-mail attachment to web@amatyc.org.
If the electronic size of your file is too large (>500K
bytes), please do not send an e-mail attachment. Instead,
send us a disk.
- Send an e-mail with the URL of your presentation to web@amatyc.org.
But don't send the URL of your homepage.
Your submission should include messages in the following
format:
Title of Presentation:
Category of the paper (optional):
Author(s)/presenter(s):
Affiliation(s):
e-mail of each presenter:
URL (if appropriate):
Abstract (optional):
Due to a large number of submissions the web site coordinator
receives, your submission will not be acknowledged. However,
your submission will be published online at www.amatyc.org
within two weeks after your submission. If you do not see
your submission published online two weeks after, please contact
the web site coordinator. Materials you sent will not be returned.
