Welcome to AMATYC’s member referral program.  AMATYC recognizes the significant role members play in recruiting new members and in promoting membership.  As a member of AMATYC, you can help promote AMATYC and two year mathematics education initiatives by encouraging non-members to join AMATYC.  For doing this, AMATYC is going to reward you with $10 off your next membership renewal up to an amount equal to your annual membership fee.  With your help, your nonprofit association can grow, create additional or enhance current programs, serve you and your colleagues better, and become a stronger advocate for mathematics education in the first two years of college.  It only takes a few moments to participate and the rewards can add up quickly. This program runs through May 31, 2015.

  2. Save the PDF version of the membership form to your computer and attach it to your email(s).
  3. Since you are involved with mathematics education in the first two years of college, I wanted to take a moment to recommend membership with the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges (AMATYC). It offers educational resources, professional development opportunities, and support to keep us current and informed.  The professional insights I receive through my AMATYC membership help me with my teaching, and keep me informed of national trends in two-year college mathematics education innovations.  Furthermore, belonging to AMATYC helps support the profession and initiatives that improve the teaching and learning of mathematics.  Please let me know if you would like to learn more about membership benefits. To join online or to learn more about the benefits of membership, please visit the AMATYC website at

For every new regular or adjunct member that you recruit and who joins AMATYC between now and May 31, 2015, you will receive $10 off your next membership renewal up to an amount equal to your annual membership fee.

  • Start with an easy goal, such as recruiting a single new member.  If 20% of AMATYC members recruit a single new member, we will reach our goal.
  • Remember to consider the adjunct faculty at your college.  The annual adjunct membership rate is half the regular membership rate ($42.50/year).
  • If your college reimburses all or part of the annual membership dues, be sure to mention this information.
  • Print off or attach an issue of the AMATYC newsletter to illustrate a benefit of being a member.  You can find all previous issues of the newsletter here
  • Be mindful of the program deadline. The program runs through May 31, 2015.

There are a few rules for the Refer-A-Friend program.

  1. The recruited colleague cannot have been an AMATYC member in the last five years.
  2. The colleague needs to join as a regular member or an adjunct member.
  3. You can recruit as many members as you want, but the maximum membership rebate amount cannot exceed your annual membership fee (currently $85 for regular individual members)

Thank you for participating!
