Mathematics Excellence Award
The Mathematics Excellence Award is intended
for educators who have made outstanding contributions to mathematics
or mathematics education at the two-year college
PAST MATHEMATICS EXCELLENCE AWARD
WINNERS
Nominations are now open for the next AMATYC
Mathematics Excellence Award, which will be presented at
the 2008 AMATYC Annual Conference in Washington, DC.
Nomination materials are:

A résumé, not to exceed
3 pages, and
-
Three (3) letters in support of the nomination,
one of which is a letter of nomination.
At least one of the three letters should be from outside
the nominee's AMATYC region. Letters of support that elaborate
on those qualities mentioned in the resume or point out
additional exemplary characteristics of the nominee are
more helpful to the committee than letters that reiterate
items mentioned in the resume.
In an effort to compare all candidates on the same basis,
any additional materials submitted will not be considered.
Nominations must be received by Friday, November 2, 2007.
The Mathematics Excellence Award Committee will
consider each of the nominations in accordance with the
following criteria:

National reputation

Leadership and activities in professional
organizations

Professional talks and presentations
-
Awards and grants received
-
Publications
-
Professional activities on a regional,
state, and national scale
-
Teaching Expertise
-
Other Contributions to mathematics and/or
mathematics education
