   Absurd Math is an interactive mathematical problem solving game series. The player proceeds on missions in a strange world where the ultimate power consists of mathematical skill and knowledge. Many of the pages have hidden clues and areas. Anytime a player needs help, they may E-mail for assistance. Teachers and parents my E-mail for answer keys.

   "Alive maths has two principal goals. The first is to create an attractive and engaging environment in which students are motivated and encouraged to mathematize, that is, to attend to spatial and numerical relationships and seek to interpret and communicate them. The second is to provide students with a means of reflecting upon and sharing their mathematical work with peers and teachers. "
4. Fermi Questions Library
   "Fermi questions emphasize estimation, numerical reasoning, communicating in mathematics, and questioning skills. Students often believe that "word problems" have one exact answer and that the answer is derived in a unique manner. Fermi questions encourage multiple approaches, emphasize process rather than "the answer", and promote non-traditional problem solving strategies."

   How fast does your heart beat? Why are manhole covers round? Which cookie has the most chocolate? These are examples of the problems you'll find on this well-designed, educational site. Don't worry, if you have trouble solving the problems, you can get a hint. Full solutions to the problems are also provided.
6. House of Math Word Problems for Children
   Here is a web site that promises to deliver word problems that students might actually enjoy. At MathStories.com. are more than 3,500 story problems for students in grades 1-8, arranged in groups according to grade level and topic. The worksheets are printable for ease of use.
7. Japanese Math Challenge
   20 Story Problems translated from Japan's Jr. High Math Tests "the full test consists of 225 story problems. If completed within the time provided, the 225 story problems require over 8 hours to complete."
8. Math Magic
   MathMagic is a K-12 telecommunications project which provides strong motivation for students to use computer technology while increasing problem-solving strategies and communications skills. MathMagic posts challenges in each of four categories (k-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12) to trigger each registered team to pair up with another team and engage in a problem-solving dialog. When an agreement has been reached, one solution is posted for every pair.

   Looking for problems to challenge your students "Thousands of challenging problems are published each year in contests and journal problem columns around the globe. MathPro Online references 20,945 problems (all published prior to 1990) from 38 journals and 21 contests. Solutions are not included, but locations of published solutions usually are included."

    Though this site is intended for elementary children there are some good problems that if reworded for the older student can be used with developmental students
11. Mike's Logic and math problems
    Problems range from simple arithmetic to differential equations. Each is rated from one to four stars, with one star the easiest and four the hardest.

    Word Problems for Kids is designed for teachers and their students. The problems are classified into levels suitable for Grades 5 to 13. The problems are carefully selected to help students improve their problem solving skills.
