  1. AMATYC Standards
CROSSROADS in MATHEMATICS: Standards for Introductory College Mathematics Before Calculus,
published by AMATYC in 1995, gives a vision and recommendations for introductory college mathematics before calculus. Standards for content, pedagogy, and intellectual development are given. This document presents a comprehensive guide for planning for mathematics teaching and learning at the first two years of college
  2. Before It's Too Late: A Report to the Nation from The National Commission on Mathematics and Science Teaching for the 21st Century
"The primary message of this report holds that America’s students must improve their performance in mathematics and science if they are to succeed in today’s world and if the United States is to stay competitive in an integrated global economy. The Report’s second message points in the direction of a solution: the most direct route to improving mathematics and science achievement for all students is better mathematics and science teaching."
  3. NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics
  4. California Learning Resource Network
An educator's guide to instructional technology resources that support California's curriculum frameworks and standards. This site contains a searchable database with reviews of Electronic Learning Resources, Web Information Links, and Electronic Learning Assessment Resources.
  5. Coalition for Excellence in Science and Mathematics
The coalition's site has news, resources, and standards link related to science and math education in New Mexico. Contains plenty of history and information on the evolution-creationist debate.
  6. Everybody Counts
"Mathematics is the key to opportunity. No longer only the language of science, mathematics is now essential to business, finance, health, and defense. Yet because of the lack of mathematical literacy, many students are not prepared for tomorrow's jobs. Everybody Counts suggests solutions. Written for everyone concerned about our children's education, this book discusses why students in this country do not perform well in mathematics and outlines a comprehensive plan for revitalizing mathematics education in America, from kindergarten through college."
  7. "Measuring Up": Prototypes for Mathematics Assessment (1993)
An electronic version of "Measuring Up," a popular book by the National Research Council on assessing students in accordance with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) math standards, is now available. "Measuring Up" provides examples of problems that students should be able to solve at a fourth grade level as well as insights on how to evaluate their responses.
  8. M2C - Maricopa Mathematics Consortium Webpage
"The Maricopa Mathematics Modules present mathematics for college students in courses before College Algebra and in Quantitative Reasoning courses. This mathematics course material is based on the AMATYC Crossroads Standards for Foundation Mathematics."
