  1. Advocates for Women in Science, Engineering and Mathematics
    The mission of AWSEM is to create and support a regional network of science and technology practitioners, educators, parents, businesses and community organizations committed to the enrichment of opportunities in Science, Engineering and Mathematics for young women.
  2. American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS)
  3. American Institute of Mathematics (AIM)
    The goal of AIM is to expand the frontiers of mathematical knowledge through focused research projects, through sponsored conferences, and through the development of an on-line mathematics library.

  5. American Mathematical Society (AMS)
    The American Mathematical Society was created to further mathematical research and scholarship. It fulfills its mission with programs that promote mathematical research, increase the awareness of its value to society, and foster excellence in mathematics education.
  6. American Statistical Association (ASA)
    Founded in Boston in November of 1839 and dedicated to promoting excellence in the development and use of statistics, ASA's commitment is to provide the link between the profession of statistics and the society it serves.
  7. Archives of MATHEDCC
    This site is maintained by AMATYC and contains the archives of an internet discussion group "dedicated to discussion of all topics relating to mathematics education."
  8. Association for Symbolic Logic (ASL)
    The Association for Symbolic Logic is an international organization supporting research and critical studies in logic. Its primary function is to provide an effective forum for the presentation, publication, and critical discussion of scholarly work in this area of inquiry.
  9. Association of Christians in the Mathematical Sciences (ACMS)
    The purposes of the ACMS are to encourage Christians in the mathematical sciences to explore the relationship of their faith to their discipline; to promote interaction among Christians in the mathematical sciences; to encourage research and writing by Christians, especially on topics interrelating their faith and their discipline; and to promote innovative and effective teaching.
  10. Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE)
    Established in 1992, the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators is a professional organization of teacher educators in Schools and Colleges of Education and Departments of Mathematics as well as others interested in mathematics teacher education. The members of AMTE work together to promote and improve the education of preservice and inservice teachers of mathematics.

    The Association was established in 1960 for the purpose of providing leadership and encouragement that will create an active interest in mathematics and its teaching, assist in the promotion and maintenance of high standards of instructing and learning in all mathematics programs, and provide an opportunity for exchange of ideas and information on current issues.
  12. Association of Teachers of Mathematics
    The Association of Teachers of Mathematics aims to relate mathematical education more closely to the powers and needs of the learner. The Association was formed in 1950 and has about 4000 members, mainly teachers in primary and secondary schools. It is a registered charity and reinvests all profits back into mathematics education. The ATM provides opportunities to bring together all concerned with mathematical education for all age ranges. It supports local branches, local and national working groups, informal support networks, courses and conferences.

    AWM is dedicated to encouraging women in the mathematical sciences.
  14. Benjamin Banneker Association (BBA)

    The Benjamin Banneker Association is a nonprofit organization of individuals and groups concerned about the mathematics education of African-American children. It was founded in 1986 to provide a forum for mathematics educators, mathematicians, and other interested people to discuss the learning and teaching of mathematics for African-American children.
  15. Canadian Mathematical Society (CMS)
    The focus of the CMS is to reach out to and form new partnerships with the users of mathematics in business, governments, and universities, educators in the school and college systems as well as other mathematical associations to share experience, work on collaborative projects and generally enhance the perception and strengthen the profile of mathematics in Canada.

  18. Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences (CBMS)
    The Conference Board of the Mathematical Sciences is an umbrella organization consisting of sixteen professional societies all of which have as one of their primary objectives the increase or diffusion of knowledge in one or more of the mathematical sciences. Its purpose is to promote understanding and cooperation among these national organizations so that they work together and support each other in their efforts to promote research, improve education, and expand the uses of mathematics.

    The IMA was established in 1982 by the National Science Foundation. The mission of the Institute is to close the gap between theory and its applications.
  20. Institute of Mathematical Statistics (IMS)
    The Institute of Mathematical Statistics is an international professional society, devoted to the development, dissemination, and application of statistics and probability.
  21. Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS)
    The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences is an international scientific society dedicated to improving operational processes, decision-making, and management through the application of methods from science and mathematics.
  22. International Mathematical Union (IMU)
    The purpose of the IMU is the promotion of international cooperation in mathematics.

  24. Mathematical Association of America (MAA)
    The Mathematical Association of America is devoted to the teaching and learning of collegiate mathematics. Made up primarily of college and university faculty, membership is open to anyone interested in mathematics.
  25. Mathematical Sciences Education Board (MSEB)
    The Mathematical Sciences Education Board has as its mission to provide national leadership and guidance for policies, programs, and practices supporting the improvement of mathematics education at all levels and for all members of our society.
  26. Midwest Consortia for Mathematics and Science Education
    NCMSC The North Central Mathematics and Science Consortium (NCMSC) is one of ten consortia funded by the U.S. Department of Education under the National Eisenhower Program. MSC works to advance systemic change in mathematics and science in a seven-state region: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
  27. Mu Alpha Theta
    Mu Alpha Theta is a national high school and junior and community college mathematics club for honors students that is cosponsored by the NCTM and the MAA.
  28. National Alliance of State Science and Mathematics Coalitions (NASSMC)
    NASSMC establishes, and provides services to, state coalitions dedicated to improving US mathematics, science, and technology education for all students.
  29. National Association of Mathematicians (NAM)
    The main purpose of NAM is the promotion of excellence in the mathematical sciences and the promotion of the mathematical development of underrepresented American minorities.
  30. National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics (NCSM)
    The National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics is an organization for leaders in mathematics education, pre-K through adult, in the United States and Canada. Its purpose is to support mathematics education leadership at the school, district, college/university, state or province, and national levels through a cadre of well-trained, broadly-informed, and perceptive leaders of mathematics education at all levels.

    The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics is the world's largest organization dedicated to the improvement of mathematics education in elementary schools, middle schools, high schools, two-year colleges, and teacher education schools.
  32. Pi Mu Epsilon
    Pi Mu Epsilon is an honorary national mathematics society. The purpose of the organization is the promotion of scholarly activity in mathematics among the students in academic institutions and among the staffs of qualified non-academic institutions.
  33. Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM)
    The Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics was founded in 1952 to further the application of mathematics to industry and science, to promote basic research in mathematics leading to new techniques useful to industry and science, and to provide media for the exchange of information between mathematicians and other technical and scientific communities.

  35. Society of Actuaries (SOA)
    The Society of Actuaries is an educational, research, and professional organization dedicated to serving the public and Society members. Its mission is to advance actuarial knowledge and to enhance the ability of actuaries to provide expert advice and relevant solutions for financial, business, and societal problems involving uncertain future events.
  36. The Women and Mathematics Network
    The Women and Mathematics Network is a consortium of program directors of outreach programs in mathematics for women and girls. The network provides: professional development opportunities for program directors, forums for sharing ideas and expertise, and workshops and forums for prospective directors of such programs.
