The Washington, DC conference was a monumental success. Many thanks go out to the Local Events Committee (LEC), especially the coordinator Judy Williams, for helping to make the conference the success that it was. Many people attended from all over North America. Here are some pictures to give a feel for the conference. Text written by Judy Wiliams and Kathryn Kozak.

Over 50 members of the Mid-Atlantic Region began working at 6:00 a.m. Saturday to prepare the International Ballroom tables with our 2008 mementos: dry erase boards and pens from AMATYC, monumental mints (thanks to Northern VA CC), and 7 in 1 survival tools (thanks to Tidewater CC).

Many utilized the Hospitality Room and the Internet Cafe

The hospitality room was a great place to get together with people from all over the country and have a great place to talk and get to know each other.

The conference was well attended and everyone seemed to have learned a great deal and had fun.

Michael and Judy Ackerman chat with Lynn Bigwood from North Dakota at the Friends and Family session Thursday morning. Over 25 people took advantage of the session about local information from the Ackermans; Sam Olshan, AMATYC spouse from NJ; and Andy Jones, faculty from Prince George's CC. Thanks to a generous donation from VMATYC we were able to enjoy a "Capitol Continental" breakfast at the session.

There were so many good sessions that it isn't possible to show them all, but here are some pictures to give an idea of the types of sessions.

And the winner is...
