Hilton Washington Hotel

The 34th Annual AMATYC Conference kicks off on Thursday, November 20, at the headquarters hotel, the Hilton Washington Hotel, located at 1919 Connecticut Avenue, NW in Washington, DC.

A block of guest rooms at reduced rates has been reserved at the Hilton Washington until October 29, 2008, or until AMATYC’s room block is sold out, whichever comes first. Any unreserved rooms in the block will be released for sale to the general public after this date. So make your reservation early. Be sure to mention that you are attending the AMATYC Conference when making your reservation to receive the conference rate for your guest room. All hotel rooms must have a deposit guarantee in the amount of the first night’s room and tax by October 29, 2008. All reservations held by credit card will be charged one night’s deposit on October 29, 2008. If you do not check into the hotel on the first night of your reservation, your deposit will be forfeited and your reservation will be canceled. If you cancel your reservation after October 29, 2008, your deposit will be forfeited. If you find you must cancel your reservation, please make the cancellation at the earliest possible date to avoid losing your deposit. In the event you check out of your guest room prior to the reserved checkout date, the hotel will add an early checkout fee (currently $75) to your individual account. If you wish to avoid an early checkout fee, you should advise the hotel at or before check-in of any change in your planned length of stay.

Room Rates:

Single: $169 (plus tax)

Double $189 (plus tax); The double-room rate at the Hilton is mis-printed in the conference miniprogram; we regret the inconvenience. The correct rate is $189.

Additional Person: $20 (plus tax)

Churchill Hotel

The block of rooms AMATYC is holding at the Hilton Washington for the Annual AMATYC Conference is essentially sold out. When you contact the Hilton Washington, if there are no rooms available, please contact the Churchill Hotel at the phone number given below. You will need to request a room in the AMATYC (or Mathematics Group) block of rooms to get the Conference room rate shown below.

The Churchill Hotel is located directly across Connecticut Avenue from the Hilton Washington. These rooms and rates will be available at the Churchill Hotel until October 10, or until the rooms are sold out, whichever comes first. After October 18, reservations can be made based upon availability.

For guests who depart prior to scheduled date of departure, a $75 early departure fee will be billed to the party responsible for payment. Guests will have the opportunity to verify and amend their departure date at the time of check-in.

Valet Parking: Currently, parking charges are $16.00 for day parking (less than 4 hours), $22.00 for more than 4 hours and $30.00 overnight plus applicable taxes. Please advise the hotel if these charges are to be posted directly to the Master Account. Rates are subject to change.

Porterage is $8.50 per person if individuals arrive as a group.
