Who are the facilitators for an AMATYC Traveling Workshop?
Our Traveling Workshop Facilitators are AMATYC members,
math faculty and administrators with an outstanding presentation record.
Every workshop facilitator is evaluated at each of the events they
facilitate.
Who chooses the facilitator for an AMATYC Traveling Workshop?
The client chooses. The PD Coordinator will forward CVs
for available facilitators for the potential workshop dates. The client
can examine the experiences of potential facilitators and choose the
right facilitator for their event.
Who plans the schedule for the workshop?
The client and the chosen facilitator work together to
build a schedule for the workshop day. This is tailored to the needs of
the client and the expertise of the facilitator.
Who arranges the travel and lodging?
Most of the time, the facilitator arranges for travel and
lodging and is then reimbursed at the conclusion of the workshop.
However, if the institution or organization needs to make the
arrangements for budget purposes, that is fine too. The client and the
facilitator should work together to make sure arrangements are
satisfactory to both parties.
How do I become a workshop facilitator?
If you are interested in becoming an AMATYC Traveling
Workshop Facilitator, a good first-step is to submit a proposal to
present at an AMATYC Conference. If you have already presented at an
AMATYC Conference (or affiliate conferences), please fill out the Traveling Workshop Facilitator Form.
